PETA’s ‘Amore for Animals’ Anniversary Event
Twenty years ago, PETA’s Mobile Clinics Division was born—and it’s celebrating the sterilization of 194,000 animals and counting since its inception with “That’s Amore for Animals,” a dog-friendly event at Elation Brewing on Saturday. For every sale of the bar’s newly released That’s Amore beer, one dollar will go to keep PETA’s low-cost spay/neuter clinics helping out in Hampton Roads. The celebration will feature live music from the Fox and the Bear and delicious vegan fare from Elation Brewing’s own kitchen and The Bakehouse at Chelsea.
Where: Elation Brewing, 5104 Colley Ave., Norfolk
When: Saturday, October 2, 5:30 p.m.
“Because our Mobile Clinics Division has ‘snipped’ so many animals, hundreds of thousands of cats and dogs were not born into our community, which is already overwhelmed with homeless animals,” says PETA Senior Vice President Daphna Nachminovitch. “PETA invites everyone to come raise a glass and help us continue to combat the homeless animal overpopulation crisis.”
