NEW DATE: Stephanie Nakasian, vocalist
The Virginia Arts Festival's top priority is the health and safety of all our patrons, artists, volunteers, and staff. In conformance with the Governor Ralph Northam's statewide ban on events over 100 people made on March 15, 2020, and due to the increasing threat COVID-19, all public performances and education events scheduled through May 4 will be postponed or canceled effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
In light of Governor Northam's stay at home order, the Scope Arena box office is closed. Tickets purchased in person at the box office will be adjusted once the building reopens.

Stephanie Nakasian swings where angels fear to tread, scatting into vocal territory that others avoid, beguiling audiences with intricate improvisations and soaring melodic lines. More than just a singer, she's a music theorist and scholar, and a professor at the University of Virginia and The College of William and Mary; armed with encyclopedic knowledge, she mines the art and lore of jazz to spice up her concerts with stories and little-known twists to the tales behind the music.
