ABOUT THE LIVERPOOL INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL:
The Liverpool International Theatre Festival in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Canada, has attracted worldwide performers of the highest quality since 1992. It is a juried competitive festival complete with critiques and workshops. The festival will provide accommodations and food. LTN will provide transportation. The group will also perform at LTN in February as well as multiple performances throughout the year at various venues yet to be determined to fund the travel. There will be no cost to the cast and crew, but we expect participation in fundraising. Passports are required to enter Canada.

SYNOPSIS:
The Commedia Rapunzel, a 50-minute one-act production played in true commedia dell’arte, loosely follows the Rapunzel fairytale. The stage is empty. All sets, props and costumes are in a cart brought on by the players, just like a travelling merchant’s wagon. The players have made all their props and their costumes from found objects. There is no “fourth wall.” Each actor plays several roles.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
Please prepare a monologue of your choice. The monologue may be any favorite scripted piece or completely improvised, but preferably performed off-book. The director will be focusing on delivery, projection, and stage presence.
